Administrator's Message
Greetings Village School Community!
The planet Venus passes through a famous cluster called the Beehive tonight and tomorrow night–one great glittering diamond slowly meandering through dozens of tiny glittering diamonds. It’s not clear who first named the Beehive its modern name, but astronomers have been observing it for thousands of years! You might catch a glimpse of it, if the skies are clear enough and dark enough.
The fact that Venus is so prominent in the skies right now is very fitting for our school. The pattern in our school logo is the path traced between the intersections of Venus and the Earth, with the Sun in the center, over eight years Earth time. (If you’d like to see how this works, look up Earth and Venus flower pattern on youtube). We chose this design because it flowed so well with our focus on wholism–the head, the heart, and the hands–of each child. Venus has long been associated with love and the heart, the Earth symbolizes humanity and the hands, and the Sun represents innovation and higher thought, or the head. The fact that it takes eight years for Venus and Earth to trace this perfect, beautiful shape fits impeccably with the path our students take throughout the grades here at the Village School. Eight years ago, Venus, Earth, and the Sun began one new iteration of the figure in our logo and are now just weeks away from completion, just as our eighth grade students are readying themselves for graduation. Two paths nearly completed, with new adventures on the horizon.
We are so proud of our graduates and of all of our students still orbiting our campus! We will miss our eighth grade students, but we know you are moving on toward great things and hopefully you’ll come back to visit. See below for more information on graduation and this weeks happenings!
Thank you for showing up and for always lighting our way forward!
Sincerely,
Roz, Shannon, and Andy
Thank You Volunteers!
Thank you for an incredible school year! From help in the Village Kitchen, field trips to school wide events, plays, and so much more, we would not be able to do what we do without your help. Parent volunteers logged thousands of hours! We appreciate your dedication to the Village School more than words could ever say.

Take at look at the middle school sewing class's fabulous final projects!
3rd Grade Play
The third graders performed their play, "Los Pajaros de la Cosecha/The Harvest Birds". They were absolutely wonderful!
Village Kitchen
On Friday, 4th grade helpers harvested the rest of the rainbow radishes from the school garden for our salad bar. Thank you Fourth Grade!
Today, 8th grade students harvested scapes from the garlic they planted this winter. We will use them tomorrow in our pesto preparation for lunch.
Best wishes to our fabulous graduating class, much of which we have been feeding at school for the past 9 years! You will be missed. We hope you come back to visit us in the future.
